Prisoners in Her Majesty’s Prison County and Borough of Leicester. 1) John Pikard on bail age 80 trade clerk, 2) Charles Duckering admitted to bail July 8, 1878 age 21 trade clerk. Degree of instruction - Well, Committing magistrate Clement Stretton, Esq., Mayor of Liecester. Date of Warrant 8th July 1878. when received into custody 16th July 1878. Offence as charged in the commitment. Unlawfully assaulting and beating William Henry Clayton at Leicester on the 24th day of June 1878. When tried 18th July 1878, before mr Buzzard, QC Commissioner. Pickard not guilty of an assault. Duckering guilty of an assault. Sentence - Ordered to enter into his own recognizance in the sum of £25 to come up for Judgement when call on. See copy.

Will full transcript. 'THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me CHARLES DUCKERING of 139 Evington Road in the County Borough of Leicester Clerk in His Majesty's Post Office. I HEREBY REVOKE all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. I GIVEDEVISE AND BEQUEATH all the Real and personal Estate of or to which I shall be seized possessed or entitled or over which I shall have any power of disposition at the time of my deceaseunto my dear Wife Clara Duckering absolutely and I APPOINT my said Wife SOLE EXECUTRIX of this Will. IN WITNESS whereof I havehereunto set my hand this twenty third day of April one thousand nine hundred and nine.
Signed by the said Charles Duckering the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subsrcibed our name as witnesses.
