Melton Mowbray Mercury and Oakham and Uppingham News, 20 May 1915. Report on the war. ‘Private A J Duckering was also formerly in the public gas office. He was quite recently married, and his wife lives at 109, Clarendon Park-road. His father was an old post office official. Pte. Duckering was shot in theshoulder, and is now in hospital at York.’

Leicester Evening Mail, 16 October 1951. Leicester Husband had been ‘depressed’ - widow. A verdict of death from coal-gas poisoning while the balance of his mind was disturbed was recorded on Mr Arthur Joseph Duckering, a commercial engraver, of Clarendon Park-road, Leicester, by the City Coroner, Mr E G B Fowler, at an inquest at the Town Hall. Mrs A L Duckering, the widow said her husband had been strnage and depressed for three months. On Sunday, the day of the death, she smelt gas, and on going upstairs to his work room in the attic she found him dead with a pillow case over his face. He had earlier put two pennies in the gas slot-meter, saying he wanted the gas for soldering.

2191Leicester Daily Mercury, 28 July 1970. Duckering. Annie Louise (nee Thomson), widow of the late Arthur Joseph, mother of Muriel and Mary, passed peacefully away in hospital, July 26th. Service and cremation at Gilroes, Wednesday, July 29th, at 3pm. No flowers by request.
