Notes for Evelyn Rollett (Spouse 1)
Lynn went to the University of Washington for one year, before leaving with his room mate, Verle Annis, to attend for four years the University of Pennsylvania, because it had a better reputation for architecture. Verle became a professor of architecture at the University of Southern California and Lynne, with a B.A. and Master's degree in architecture became a licenced architect in New York City. (Verle 2.97)

Born in Olympia, WA, Lynn (born Ernest) R. Duckering attended the University of Washington before earning architectural degrees at the University of Pennsylvania (B. Arch., 1923, M. Arch., 1924). After working in New York City firms until 1932, Duckering founded his own architectural office in Santa Cruz, CA. Duckering joined the national AIA in 1947 and was a member of the Coast Valleys California Chapter. Written by Emily T. Cooperman.

Lynn served as an engineer in France in the First World War for two years. On his return he studied to become an architect at Pennslvania University (BA 1923) and Masters degree in 1924. Lynn worked for 8 years in New York City, the last year without pay, due to the 'Great Depression'. He then spent a year designing and constructing a cabin and other buildings for his father-in-law, E.B.Webster, near Port Angela, Washington, 17 miles south of Victoria BC, Canada living at The Heart of The Hills. Lynn worked as a self-employed architect in Santa Cruz, California. He suffered his first heart attack he. He recovered and moved to Port Angeles where he retired for several years. He began to work again, but at a slower pace, but then had a further heart attack, from which he died at Providence Hospital in Seattle. (Verle 2.97)
