On the 17th of May 1855, George, his mother Hannah (not sure about this) and his two sons, Charles and John left Lincolnshire and travelled to Hull, where they boarded the Mayfair ship, which sailed for Canada, arriving at Bolton, Albion Township, in the Province of Ontario on July 25th 1855. Charles married Ann ROWLEY on the 29th December 1869. They moved to their own farm, Lot 8, Concession 13 Maryboro Township, County of Wellington in the Province of Ontario and they had eight children. (John Higgins 9.6.97)

After Charles and Ann married they 'loaded their belongings on a sleigh and made their way to their new home, namely lot #8, concession #13, Maryboro, Ontario. This was a raw land, which must be cleared. Their first home was a log cabin which they built. This land is today near the village of Rothsay, County of Wellington.'

George farmed west half Lot 8, Concession 13 from 1871 to 1895. This property was then owned by Charles from 1895 to 1909, then Ezra 1909 to1910 then Ann DUCKERING 1910/1910.3631, 3632
