Grealdine was the Head Receptionist & the qualified nurse for a number of doctors in a medical centre in Mission Bay. She & Philip lived in Auckland when they married and moved to Christchurch in 1985. They adopted a three-week old baby girl in the October of that year after waiting for 4.5 years to adopt a child. She continued to work as a practice nurse for a doctor in Merivale, Christchurch until just before her death in 1992. (Steve Osmond July 1999)
