Luton Times and Advertiser, 4 October 1878. Births. October 1, at Great Northern Road, Dunstable, the wife of Mr Duckering, of a son.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Ernest William Duckering of 42 St Mary’s Street Dunstable in the County of Bedford. I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions at any heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament. I give and bequeath all my personal effects unto my wife Clara Eliza Duckering for her own absolute use and benefit. And I give and devise my property in St Mary’s Street Dunstable aforesaid unto my said wife for her life or until she shall remarry and after the death or second marriage of my said wife I give and Devise thesaid St Mary’s Street property unto my Executors after named Upon Trust to sell the same and to divided the net proceeds of the said sale equally between my six children and step children share and share alike and if any of the said children should die in my lifetime or the lifetime of my said wife then leaving a child or children surviving them then such child or children shall take his or her deceased Parent’s share. And I appoint my stepson Leslie Gilbert Coleman and my daughter Eileen Annie Thompson to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will. Notes for Clara Eliza (Spouse 1)
Clara was not married before Ernest, but she had a son Leslie Gilbert Coleman, born 1910. Ernest in his will declares Leslie as his stepson and on the GRO Online Index no maiden name is provided. Leslie appears though in the 1911 Census as a son of Clara’s parents.
