Notes for Thomas (Spouse 1)
Thomas Duckering died at his home on Grove Street Tuesday morning at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 21 days. He was born in Lincolnshire, England. At age of 8 he came to America with his parents, Samuel and Hannah Duckering, settling in Millford, Michigan. He was a resident of Hiland, Oakland County for 32 years, coming to Standish in 1903 where he has resided until the time of his death with the exception of the five years he lived on a farm in Sterling. He built the 10c feed barn at Standish which he conducted for four years.
Mr. Duckering was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Jane Jakway, April 3, 1873, who with their only child, Ina survive him. Rev. J.W. Lee of the Standish M.E. Church will accompany the family to Milford where the funeral service will be conducted. Burial will be in the family lot at Oakgrove cemetery. The nephews will act as pallbearers.
