Beatrice was a well known photographer and took over her son'sbusinees on the farm in 1955, a hobby she continued for 30years. In addition she help run the farm, in particular thehatchery. (C Hayes 11.9.97)

Beatrice Mary was born on the 9th June 1901 at Cannock,Staffordshire, England to George Henry Brumby and MaryMarshall. She emigrated to Canada in 1907. She marriedWilliam Edgar Hayes on the 28th December 1921 at Langmeade,Saskatchewan, Canada. They ahve two children. She died onthe 21st April 1991, Battlefords Union Hospital, NorthBattleford, Ssakatchewan, Canada. She was buried on the 25thApril 1991 at Meota Cemetery, SK. Beatrice was an avidgardener and actively involved in the community -Cavalier Community Club, St Mary's Church, local school boardetc.. (C Hayes 11.9.97)

He finished his education at Lincoln Technical School. (C Hayes11.9.97)

He worked for Rustons in Lincoln as a trainee draughtsman, butdecided this was going know where so decided to emigrate to Canada where his brother was. He worked for various farms in the Meota district learning the trade. He filed for his free 160 acre homestead in the Triple Creek area, which was sight unseen, but gave it up in 1916 as it was nothing but light sand. He then bought land in the Cavalier district with Coldfield as a partner. He volunteered during the First World War, but came came down with a heart condition from the cold, damp conditions. He was discharged and his partner joined up. His partner eventually gave up the land to him. The farm was called Avonvale Farm and in 1927 he purchased his first Ayrshire cow from the University of Saskatchewan. He kept R.O.P. Ayrshires for 35 years and was well known for his stock. In 1933 he began a poutry business - Rhode Island Reds. Beatrice ran the hatchery for breeding stock. (C Hayes11.9.97)

William Edgar was born on the 3rd June 1891 at Ingham Lincolnshire to Samuel and Lucy Hayes. He moved to Lincoln in 1906, with his parents when they retired. William emigrated to Canada and sailed on the 'SS Canada', having failed to get a place on the 'SS Titanic'! with his sister Grace. They docked at Halifax on the 1st April 1912. He met Beatrice a a dance for returning soldiers from the First World War in Langmeade. He married Beatrice Mary Brumby on the 28th December 1921 at Langmeade, Saskatchewan Canada. They had two children. He died on the 21st April 1975 at Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was buried on the 24th April 1975, Meota Cemetery, Meota, SK. William was an avid gardener. They were both involved in the community, such as the Cavalier Community Club, St Mary's Church, local schoolboard etc.. in addition he was avid football fan and received the 'Football Echo' from Lincolnshire for years.
