Notes for Grace Emily HAYES
Grace emigrated to the USA in March 1912. She was escorted by her brother William Edgar HAYES and his friend Charlie OLDFIELD. They travelled on the 'Canada', which docked in the USA before leaving for Canada. They had tried to sail on the 'S.S.Titanic', but it was fully booked. Grace married John (Jack) LACY on the 14th April 1912 in the USA. They had five children. She died on the 16th February 1986 (aged 102) at Erie, Pennsylvannia and was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie Pennsylvannia on the 19th February 1986. As of February 1986, Grace had 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. (C Hayes11.9.97)
