England & Wales, Crime: William Duckering, 10 days, 14 April 1883 Lincoln City, larceny, old sacks. 14 days 23 August 1883 Lincoln City, indecent assault. Age 22, labourer. Degree of instruction N.. Committing Magistrate. F J Clarke Esq, Mayor and W Beard Esq, Lincoln. Date of warrant 19th June 1884, received into custody 19th June 1884. Offence: Indecently did assault one Jessie Elizabeth Willmore, aged six years at Lincoln on the 18th day of June 1884. Tried 3rd July before Horace Smith Esq, Recorder. Verdict - pleaded guilty. Sentence 18 Calendar months hard labour.

Offence Indecently assaulting Florence Upton aged five years and nine months, at Lincoln, on the 9th day of June 1891. Troed 9th July before The Recorder. Verdict of the jury - Guilty of an indecent assault after previous conviction. Previous sentence - 18 c. months h.l., 3 July 1884, indecently assaulting a girl 6 years old Lincoln City Qr. Sessions. Sentence - 18 calendar months hard labour.

Lincolnshire Chronicle, 24 August 1883. Lincoln City Pollice. Thursday. Wm. Duckering, aged 20, of Aston’s Court, was brough up on a charge of assaulting and beating Annie Harmston, aged six years, of 46, Sincil Bank, on Saturday last. From the evidence it appeared that the little girl was sent by her mother to take a letter to a house where the defendant was employed, when Duckering called her into an outhouse where he was cleaning boots, and indecently assaulted her. He was committed to gaol for fourteen days with hard labour.
