1908. Roland was born on the 15th of October 1908 at Gainsborough and married Hilda Mary Kitching on the 10th of Febraury 1929 at Misterton Methodist Church. Roland died on the 19th of November 1974 at Bridlington Hospital and was cremated at Scarborough. Helived at Glengarth, Water Lane, Flamborough, Yorkshire, which he had built. (June tel. 19.1.97)

Roland was a contract builder. After the war he was erecting prefabricated houses. When that finished he moved back to Lincoln to help construct a paper factory. He then moved to Spalding helping build the Crown works, then after that moving to Bridlington, where he set up a builders merchants. (June tel 8.2.96)
