1922. A quiet wedding occurred at the home of Will Duckering, about two miles southwest of Roscoe Sunday, December 24th, 1922, at 11:50 a.m. the contracting parties being Earl Chitwood of Kansas City and Miss Gertie Duckering, the wedding ceremony being pronounced by Rev. Ben Zener. Immediately following the marriage ceremony the guests were invited to the dining room where a bountiful dinner was served the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Terrel and son, Mr. and Mrs. Souther and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ripley and children, Mrs. Chas. Francis, Mrs. Robert McCullick and daughter, Misses Mildred and Vesta Hays, Josephine and Maggie Elliott. The groom is in the employ of the Standard Oil Company at Kansas City and enjoys the confidence of a host of friends, while Miss Duckering is well known and a popular young lady of the Roscoe community. Hearty congratulations and good wishes of hosts of friends accompanied them to their future home in Kansas City.
