Thomas William DUCKERING was born on December 23, 1877 in Eston, North Yorkshire, England. His tombstone says he was born in 1874, however the 1881 English and 1900 census indicates 1877. Thomas immigrated on February 12, 1885 to New York. His mother Martha and children Thomas, William and James Charles, arrived in the United States on the SS Gallia. He was granted a land patent on May 23 1894 in Howell Co., Missouri for 160 acres. He was a farmer between 1900 and 1930. He appeared on the census on June 12, 1900 in Howell Co., Missouri, on April 29, 1910 in Howell Co., Missouri and on January 15, 1920 and on April 15, 1930 in Roscoe Twp., St. Clair Co., Missouri. In 1949 he lived in Halfway, Polk, Missouri. He lived at 11305 E. 9 St. about 1950 and 1951 in Independence, Jackson, Missouri. He lived on St. John Ave. between 1951 and 1953 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. He lived in Belton, Cass, Missouri between 1953 and 1959. He died on June 15, 1959 in Halfway, Polk, Missouri of heart disease and cancer of the larynx. He was a life long pipe smoker. He was was buried in Maplewood Cemetery, aka Rickett Cemetery, Brownington, Henry, Missouri.

In Memorian. Mable Duckering was born at River Falls, Wis. June 7, 1879, and departed this life December 14, 1911, aged 32 years, 6 months and 7 days. She professed faith in Christ about two years ago and united with the Congregational Methodist Church and was a good, loyal worker up to her death. To know her was to love her. She leaves a husband and five small children, father and mother, two sisters and four brothers, besides a host of friends to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. T. Profitt at Blue Mound cemetery last Friday afternoon in the presence of many sorrowing friends. Taken from ‘The Journal-Gazetter (West Plains, Missouri) 21 Dec 1911, Thursday page 4.
