George was the executor of his father's will with his brother Charles. George was left the leasehold of No 38 Spencer Road, Herne Hill, London. See Charles's will on his file.
George's will records his death on the 14th July 1901 and the administration by Charles Percy Duckering, who was a surveyor's assistant. His effects were valued as £869 13s 3d. (Michael D.29.6.96)
'This is the last Will and Testament of me GEORGE DUCKERING of No. 5 Victoria Street, Westminster Abbey in the County of Middlesex Heraldic Engraver - 1st: I hereby appoint my dear wife Alice Kate Duckering and Thomas Gortley of No 104 Lyndhurst Grove, Peckham, London S.E. to be conjointly the EXECUTRIX and EXECUTOR of this my will and I desire that they shall pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as conveniently may be after my decease - 2nd: As to all property that I may be possessed of at my decease including all money in the house in the Bank and in the Building Society known as the Fourth St George's or elsewhere and all debts due to me also my household goods and furniture, jewels, trinkets and all and every other property that is mone or that may become mine I hereby give the same to my executrix and executor aforesaid. Upon trust and I desire that they shall hold the same after my just debts have been fully discharged there from and continue to pay the demands of the aforesaid building society if required and they shall in accordance with their best judgement realise this my property and invest the same in suitable and good securities. And from it I hereby give my dear wife aforesaid the sum of thirty pounds annually as long as the said money shall last. But in the event of my dear wife dying before the said money is exhausted I hereby leave the residue that may then remain to be divided in equal portions among my children. And I hereby empower my executor or executors for the time being to make use of the said residue as he or they may deem most proper for the education and benefit of my children. Lastly revoking all former wills made by me I do declare this only to be my will and testament IN WITNESS whereof I have set my name this tenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and eighty four. - Jan 10th 1884. - GEORGE DUCKERING.
