William married a third time to Flora and had six children. The first two Mabel recollects were twins, Florence and Jim. Mabel remembers playing and growing up with some of these children. (Mabel tel. 12.12.96),

Will of William Duckering.
'This is the last Will and Testament of me William Duckering of number 9 Tennyson Street, Gainsborough in the County of Lincoln, Commission Agent. I direct that my funeral and testamnetary expenses and debts (except mortgage debts if any) be fully paid and satisfied by my Executors herein after named out of my personal estate. I give and bequeath my household furniture and other household effects unto my dear wife Flora Duckering forher own absolute use and benefit. I give and bequeath my ready money and securities for money policies of insurance books of account and book debts and the residue of my personal estate andeffects whatsoever and wheresoever. And I devise all the real estate of or to which I or any person or persons in trust for me may be possessed or entitled at the time of my decease and subject to any mortgage charge or other in cumbrance then affecting the same or any part thereof unto my said wife Flora Duckering and my son in law Joseph Charles Ockerby of Batley in the County of York, manager of Woollen Mills (here in after called 2 my trustees"). Upon trust to collect, sell, get in and convert into money my personal estate and after payment there out of my said funeral and testamentary expenses and debts (except mortgage debts if any) to invest the clear net residue there of in and upon such securities as trustees may for the time being be authorised by law to invest trust funds with power to vary such investments from time to time into or for others of the same or a like nature at discretion and upon trust to let and manage my real estate and to receive the rents thereof and topay thereout the necessary expenses of keeping the same in goodand teantable repair and insured against loss or damage by fireand to pay the interest of any mortgage charge or other incumbrance then affecting the same and to pay to or other wise permit my said wife to receive the net annual income arising from my trust estates as and when the same shall become due for and during the term of her natural life for her own maintenance and the maintenance and education of all my infant children then living during their respective minority. I declare it to be my will and desire and I hereby authorise and empower the trustees for the time being of this will, but only in the event of the net annual income arising from my trust estate at any time during the lifetime of my said wife falling below the sum of four pounds per week and from time to time as occasion shall or may require to have recourse to the capital of the trust fund so invested by them as aforesaid and to withdraw thereform a sufficient sum to make up the annual income of my said wife during her life to the sum of four pounds per week and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife provided my youngest child for the time being shall have attained the age of twenty one years I authorise and empower and direct the trustees or trustee for the time being of this my will to realise collect and get in my personal estate and to sell and dispose of my real estate either together or in lots and either by public auction or private contract and subject or not to special or other conditions or stipulations relating to title or otherwise and to give receipts for the purchasing money and doall other acts and things necessary for completing any such saleor sales and to stand possessed of the moneys to arise from thesale and conversion of my trust estates and therewith andthereout in the first place to pay and satisfy the expenses incurred thereby and all estate and other death duties then payable in respect thereof and in the next place to pay and satisfy and discharge all mortgage charges or other incumbrances then affecting my real estate and then to pay and divide the clear net residue of monies unto between and amongst my eldest daughter Sarah Jane Ockerby the wife of the said Joseph CharlesOckerby and all my children by my present wife the said Flora Duckering in equal shares and proportions for their separate and absolute use and benefit and I give and bequeath the same accordingly I declare it to be my will and desire that at the decease of my said wife if there shall be any child or children of mine who shall not have attained the age of twenty one yearsthen and in that event I authorise and direct the trustees ortrustee of my will to postpone the sale and conversion of my trust estate until the youngest of such children for the time being shall attain that age and in the meantime to receive the income of my trust estates and to pay and apply the same or such part thereof as they may consider needful for the purpose for the maintenance, education and bringing up of such children during their respective minority and I direct that the surplus income (if any) shall become part of my personal estate and be dealt with accordingly. And I declare that if any one or more of my said children shall predecease me or die in the lifetime ofmy said wife if she survive me leaving lawful issue him, her or them surviving such issue shall be entitled to and shall haveand take the share to which his, her or their deceased parent would have been entitled if then living and If more than one equally between them I desire to place, on record that my reason for not leaving any part of my estate to my family (other than the said Sarah Jane Ockerby) by my previous marriages, is that I consider I have already assisted them in my life time to the full extent of the share they would have been entirtled to had they been included in the bequest of my residuary estate. I appointmy said wife Flora Duckering and the said Joseph Charles Ockerby EXECUTORS of this my will. Lastly I revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me IN WITNESS whereof I have here under set my hand this fifth day of November in the year one thousand nine hundred and twenty - WILLIAM DUCKERING - Signed and acknowledged by the said Willaim Duckering the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence andin the presence of us present at the same time who at hisrequest in his presence and in the presence of each other have here unto subscribed our names as witnesses A.D. 'This is a CODICIL to the last will and testament bearing date the fifth day of November one thousand nine hundred and twenty of me William Duckering of Number 9 Tennyson Street,Gainsborough, Commission Agent. Whereas my said will I have appointed my wife Flora Duckering and my son in law Joseph Charles Ockerby to be the Executors and trustees thereof Now I do hereby absolutely revoke and make void the said appointment and instead and in lieu thereof I do hereby appoint my wife the said Flora Duckering, my daughter Florence Mary Duckering and my son James Schofield Duckering (here inafter called "my said trustees") to be the EXECUTORS and trustees of my said will and I give and bequeath my residuary personal estate and effects andI devise all my real estate unto my said trustees upon the same trusts and with the same powers and to and for the same intents and purposes as are in my said will declared of and concerning the same. And I declare that my said will shall be read and construed through out as if the names of my said trustees had appeared therein instead of the names of the said Flora Duckering and Joseph Charles Ockerby. And whereas in and by my said will I have authorised my trustees upon my decease of my wife the said Flora Duckering to pay and divide the clear net residue of the moneys arising from the sale and conversion of my trust estates unto between and amongst my eldest daughter Sarah Jane Ockerby the wife of the said Joseph Charles Ockerby and all my children by my present wife the said Flora Duckering in equalshares for their separate and absolute use and benefit and I have given and bequeathed the same to them accordingly. Now I do hereby absolutely revoke and make void the said bequest, but inso far only as the name of the said Sarah Jane Ockerby appears therein and I declare that my said will shall be read and construed as if the name of the said Sarah Jane Ockerby was omitted altogether from and did not appear therein as one of the beneficiaries participating or taking any share whatever of and in my residuary trust moneys and in all other respects save and except where the same is altered or varied by this codicil thereto I hereby confirm my said will IN WITNESS whereof I have here under set my hand this seventh day of March one thousand nine hundred and twenty four - WILLIAM DUCKERING - Signed and acknowledged by the said William Duckering the testator as andfor a codicil to his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses A.D.
