Madeline accompanied her mother & sister Evelyn, when they visited England for 2.5 years from May 1892 until October 1894. They were based at the England home of Ellen’s youngest brother Walter Marsh Osmond at Salisbury. While at Salisbury, she continued her education by attending the local School of Art.

Madeline was very artistic. She specialiseed in wood-carving and often created her own designs. after the 1914-18 war, she taught leatherwork & woodwork to the disabled soldiers. She lived at Wanganui with her parents until they died and tehn largely lived at Wellington. (Steve Osmond)
