Beattie divorced the policeman, because he wanted children and she did not. She then started seeing a pilot and they died in a head on crash when travelling to Matlock for a meal. Both parties were killed. (Joan D. conversation 12.3.96)
Daily Mirror, 17 September 1962. His weekend drive ends in a double death. Foreman stoker Colin Youle, 35, was proud of the sports car he bought four months ago.
Every Saturday, Mr Youle, of Portland-road, West Bridgford, near Nottingham, went for a spin.
But at the weekend he was killed in a crash near Cromford, Derbyshire. So was his passenger, Mrs Irene Duckering, 45, of Osman-terrace, Briar-street, Nottingham.
His wife, Edna, said yesterday that the car had been his “pride and joy.” She had not been able to go with him on Saturday because of her work as a waitress.
A man and hiw wife in another care were injured in the accident.

Their car was in collision with a car in which Colin Graham Youle, aged 35, of Portland Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham and Mrs Beatrice Irene Duckering, aged 45, of Osman Terrace, Briad Street, Nottingham, both of whom were killed, were travelling. etc….
