Obituary: March 4, 1929 April 18, 2008 Charles Henry Kratsch, 79, of Huntsville died Friday at his residence. Mr. Kratsch was born in Cleveland and raised in Chicago. He graduated from Colorado State University. He served in the military for 15 years and had tours in the Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving the Bronze Medal Star. Mr. Kratsch was stationed in Huntsville when he met his wife. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary August 1. After his military career, he worked as a stockbroker until retiring in 2000. Mr. Kratsch served on the Huntsville Symphony board of directors, developed Muzak of Huntsville, and started the first video store in town. He was an avid gun collector. He loved animals and had a kind heart. Survivors include his wife, Sue Starnes Kratsch of Huntsville; daughters, Susan Duckering and husband Jerry of Huntsville, and Patsy Roberts and husband Roscoe Owen Roberts III of Huntsville; son, Charles Christopher Kratsch and wife Melissa of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Roscoe Owen Roberts IV, Ashley Roberts, Alexandria Ann Roberts, Katie Kratsch, Maggie Duckering, Abigail Kratsch, Sydney Kratsch, and Kelly Ann Kratsch. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday at Laughiln Service Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Woodrow Franklin officiating.
