A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Many Peaks Hall on Tuesday evening, August 16, when Ivy May, second daughter of the late Mr F. and Mrs Duckering, and Duncan John, eldest son of' the late Mr J. and Mrs Young, were married. Pastor Mr A. L. Moore officiated, and the hall was tastefully decorated with blue and white streamers and flowers.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr F. Duckering, wore a frock of white geogette and lace, featuring a cowl neckline caught with a silver clip, and a skirt finished with godets of tiny frills. She carried a beautiful bouquet of lilies of the valley, roses, and bridal fern, and her tulle veil was held in position with a coronet of orange blossoms and lilies of the valley.
Miss Elsie Duckerfng attended her sister as bridesmaid, and she was frocked in electric blue georgette and lace, and she wore a blue tulle shoulder veil, held with a coronet of blue forget me-nots. Her bouquet was of white carnations and roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr H. Young, as best man. Misses Ann Beck and Pauline Mc-Lachlan played the Wedding March and while the register was being signed played "Love's Old Sweet Song"' (piano and violin).
After the ceremony 22 guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents, and were received by the bride's mother, who wore a black silk crepe de Chene and lace frock, relieved with a floral posy. Pride of place on he table, which was prettily decorated with streamers and flower, was a two tiered wedding cake. The Rev. A. L. Moore presided, and the customary toasts were honoured. The bridal couple were the recipents of many beautiful and costly presents. When leaving for the honeymoon, which is to be spent in Brisbane, the bride wore a frock of navy lotus crepe with a navy hat and accessories to match.
