‘In the name of God Amen I John Duckerin of Wainfleet St Marie in Countie of Lincoln in a sound reason for ….. ordering this my Last will & Testament in (manner/kind) ……. following first I commit my Soule unto Almighty God my maker (& rede) hoping to be saved by the merits of Christ Jesus my redeemer & my body to be buried in the church yard in Wainfleet aforesaid …. and I give to my two/sons edward Duckerin & William Duckerin my house which I purchased of WilliamDuckerin my brother with that loft & orchard thereto belonging to be this divided that is tos/pay the west end of the house the chimney & loft toward the west (with the chimney) and those apple trees in the orchard on the wst side of it to Edward duckerin my sonn and the other end of the house with that chimney towards the east with the yard and all the rest of the apple trees towards the east I give to William Duckering my son I ….. I (my) give to my son Edward Duckerin And to be paid within three months after my decease I …… I give to my sonn William Duckerin And to be paid within three months after my decease and my will is that my sonn William Duckerin shall be my full Executor of this my last will & testament of all my goods & chattels and that after my Executor have defrayed all my debts and legacies with my funeral charges and will proving and all other charges that my Executor shall or may be brought into by being my executor all the rest of my goods I give unto Jane my wife provided always and will it that Jane my wife shall have and enjoy my house before bequeathed unto my two sonns Edward, William with the loft and orchard thereto belonging during her natural life and further my will is that after my wife deceases all her goods shall be divided into three parts two parts to John Duckerin son to my son Edward and …….. is withall and the other part to MarieDuckerin daughter to my son William Duckerin in witness whereof J South for to my good and soule the ninth and twentieth day of August 1641.
