August 14, 1934 - June 8, 2021 - Cheri Ann was born in Coeur d' Alene, ID in 1934, the first- born of Frank and Charlotte Egbers. Cheri Ann was born in Coeur d' Alene, ID in 1934, the first- born of Frank and Charlotte Egbers. Among the most significant events of her life, Cheri Ann listed: the birth and death of a baby brother (1943-44); the end of WWII; the move to Portland (1948); recognizing the influence of her Mother; two years in Philadelphia (1954-1956); her work for Julian Cheatham at Georgia Pacific (37 years); her career with the Oregon Symphony (32 years); her trip to Japan; bicycling in Denmark; and her marriage to John K. Richards in 2003.
Her interests in life were many and varied: family; friends; music; reading; regular church attendance; traveling and keeping active and healthy. Cheri Ann was capable, talented and busy, but never too busy to take a phone call, to remember special days, write a thank-you note, keep in touch with friends, host family dinners and the after- Thanksgiving quilting party, or to help out at difficult times. She had time for everyone.
Cheri Ann is survived by siblings Joan Duckering, Ellen Hansen (Paul), Kathie Taggart (John) and Duane Egbers (Bev); and eleven and nephews -- also by Jonelle Richards, Gloria Richards, Carol Richards-Ellis (Jeff), Carol Richards (*Jay), J Keil Richards Jr., their children; and by her many good friends.
Remembrances may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. A memorial service is planned.
