Derby Daily Telegraph 10 June 1935: ‘Monks-Duckering. The wedding took place at St Anne’s Church, Derby, to-day, of miss Hilda Duckering, daughter of Mr and Mrs F Duckering, of 55, Clover-street, Derby to Mr James Monks, son of mr and Mrs F Monks, of 10, Curzon-street, Derby. The ceremony was performed by the Rev F E Christian, Vicar of St John’s Derby. Given away by her father, the bridde wore a pink georgette and lace dress, and carried a bouquet of tea roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Nellie Monks, bridegroom’s sister, and Miss Mabel Duckering, bride’s sister wore blue floral georgette dresses, crinoline hats and carried pink carnations. The best man was Mr L Farnely, of Plymouth. A reception was held at St Anne’s schoolrooms.’
