When Herbert and Dora returned to Marwayne from Ontario, Herbert moved to Lloydminster and Dora went to Edmonton to find work. Cecil and Herb moved with their mother and Gerry went to live with his Uncle Ted Hames. (Jessie 30.5.97)
Bert enlisted with the 22nd Saskatchewan Light Horse Infantry and fought in the 1914 - 18 war. On returning from the war, Bert was a carpenter and fruit grower, moving from Lea Park to Lloydminster then finally to Kelowna. During the Second World War he and Dora worked at the Stanley Tool factory, returning afterwards to the farm at Lea Park. With his illness he left the farm and moved into Lloydminster and worked in kiosk in Lloydminster hospital. (Mary Inge article -Shirley Hutzkal -17.3.96 & M.I. 26.4.97))
