Anita, Charles's daughter advises that her father was a chemist who discovered tetanus, was involved in anthrax, lead, coal mines etcc. He worked and lived in Liverpool - Blundell Sand. She also mentioned that he had some involvement with artificial fertilisers (Anita conversation - 10.2.96)
In Winifred's will, in advises that Charles is a 'farmer'. I am assuming it is her brother who administered her will. (Michael)

Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer, 4 April 1939. Mr C E Duckering. Mr Charles Elmhirst Duckering, a well-known Lincolnshire agriculturist, has died suddenly at his home, Parkside, Northorpe, near Gainborough.
A native of Kirton Lindsey, Mr Duckering was a son of the late Mr Charles Duckering, a noted breeder of pedigree pigs, who had much success in the show ring in England adn abroad. A leading member of the Gainsborough branch of the NFU., Mr C E Duckering was a past chairman, adn sat on the Pigs Committee of the Lincolnshire County Bracnh. He was a Freemason.
He leaves a widow and three children.
'This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Elmhirst Duckering of Copper Beech Brigg in the County of Lincoln, Manure Manufacturer. I revoke all Wills heretofore made by me. I appoint my dera wife Mary Gertrude Duckering and my brother in law Robert Fish (hereinafter called my Trustees) Executors and Trustees of this my Will. I bequeath all my household furniture, plate, linen, china, books, prints, musical instruments, jewelry, wearing apparel and articles of personal use or ornament to my said wife absolutely. I devise all my real estate (if any) and the residue of my personal estate to my Trustees Upon trust to sell and convert the same into money and out of the proceeds of such sale and my ready money to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and subject thereto to pay to my said wife one morely of the net residue of my said residuary estate. And upon further trust to stand possessed of the remaining morely of the net residue of my said residuary estate Upon trust to invest the same. And I declare that my Trustees shall stand possessed of such last mentioned net morely of my residuary estate representing the same In trust for all my children or any my child who being male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry with the consent of my said wife under that age. And in default of such issue In trust to pay income thereof to my said wife during her life and so that the same shall be for her sole and separate use during any future coverture. And from and after her decease I declare that my Trustees shall stand possessed of the capital of such last mentioned morely. In trust for such persons or persons and in such shares as my said wife shall byWill or Codicil appoint and in default of and subject to any appointment In trust for my next of kin living at her decease in equal shares. I declare that during the minority of any child of mine who shall for the time being be living with or supported by my said wife my Trustees shall be at liberty to pay to my said wife the income of the presumptive share of any such child of and in my residuary estate and her receipt shall be asufficient discharge therefor. And I hereby authorise my Trustees in their absolute discretion to advance for the education or benefit of any child of mine one morely of his orher presumptive share of or in my residuary estate. In witness whereof I the said Charles Elmhirst Duckering have hereunto set my hand this First day of October One thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

'I, CHARLES ELMHIRST DUCKERING formerly of Copper Beech Brigg but now of Northorpe both in the County of Lincoln Manure Manufacturer declare this to be a first Codicil which I make this Twelfth day of June One thousand nine hundred and twenty nine to my Will which is dated the First day of October One thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
1. I REVOKE the appointment contained in my Will Whereby I appointed my brother-in-law Robert Fish to be an Executor and Trustee thereof.
2. I APPOINT Aymere Albert Fletcher Stubbs of Brigg aforesaid Solicitor to be an Executor and Trustee of my said Will in the place of the said Robert Fish and to act jointly with my dear wife Mary Gertrude Duckering the other Executor and Trustee named in my said Will.
3. I DECLARE that any Executor or Trustee being a Solictor or other person engaged in any profession or business may be so employed or being a Sole Executor or Trustee may so act and shall be entitled to charge and be paid for all work done and time expended by him or his firm in connection with the executorship or trust including acts which a Trustee not being in any profession or business could have done personally.
4. MY Will shall be read and have effect as if the name of the said Aymere Albert Fletcher Stubbs had been inserted therein in the place of the said Robert Fish whereever his name occurs andas if the said Aymere Albert Fletcher Stubbs had been originally appointed an Executor and Trustee of my said Will.6. SUBJECT as aforesaid I confirm my said Will.
