A week after her death this was posted on the village website: ‘Audrey Coggan who was one of the key figures in the village for many years, has died aged 89. Inaccordance with tradition, the oldest (1594) bell in St Lawrence Church tower was tolled for Audrey at 3pm today (Monday). It rang out twice (for a woman) folled by a puase, then by 89 tolls for Audrey’s age.’
