“Maude is in London gone to be housekeeper for a lady postmistress, she is a friend of Edith Duckering’s of Wragby. She has been here with her & seems a very nice person. I hope she will be able to do her duties.. …..Maude was your gaity” This is an extract from a letter Maude’s mother Emma wrote to her son Herbert in Canada 6th February 1917.

Margaret remembers receiving a wedding present from a Maude, who was a very religious lady, Is this the same Maude as Margaret received the wedding gift from in 1960 ? (Margaret Oldham, letter 20/2/96)
