'Tha fall (1939), just when war broke out, my oldest sister and her husband, Herb Radford, and daughter, Marion, sailed to England and made their home in Birmingham. Winnie and Marion made a visit back to Canada in 1956 ! Since the early '30's Winnie had been afflicted with arthritis and was confined to a wheel-chair much of her later years. Her husband was killed by a car in 1967 as he was pushing Winnie home from a church gathering. She died four months later, Marion with her husband, Horace Bonehill, and their daughter, Kathryn, live in Birmingham now.'
